During the heavy rain a few weeks ago we had water come in from the courtyard from the new church gutter.

Water backed up into the basement ruining the carpet and the closet wall. The wall has already been replaced and I have done the clean up. I also purchased a new dehumidifier $406.58.

The wall replacement was $133.83 for materials and $1,385 for labor. The wall is finished.

I have re routed the downspout that caused the problem for the short term with a length of corregated plastic pipe. I have someone working on a proposal for a more permanent solution. We had Deegan put a large single gutter on the North side of the church to keep the water off the elevator, (which worked perfectly) but we did not handle the downspout correctly.

Normally the nursery school is responsible for its own floor but since the gutter created the problem I feel that we should do the replacement. I have a quote from Yeagers Carpet for $5,250, this includes the steps and the closet area done in vinyl tile. The nursery is going to pay $450 for a cosmetic upgrade in addition to that. We need to move quickly because the school has to open right after Labor Day.

I think we should go with Yeager the $500 higher price from Yeager because of higher quality carpet and the job done differently and better in my opinion. They are also an established business likely to be around to give us service if needed.
