First Lutheran Church Statement of Belief

Lifting Up

We hold the worship of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
to be at the heart of our faith, life, and mission.
As we lift up the cross, our hearts,
and our voices in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving,
we commit ourselves to offering our best in all we do to glorify and exalt
God through the only Son Jesus Christ in the power of The Holy Spirit.

Reaching Out

Until Christ shall return we are under orders
to go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Recognizing that the Gospel knows no bounds and accepts no limits,
we commit ourselves to Christ's mission of reaching out to all,
welcoming the stranger, serving the needy, and making disciples for
Jesus Christ.

Rooted in the Gospel

We live by Scripture alone, by faith alone, by grace alone.
Apart from the grace of God in the Word and Sacraments,
we cannot prosper in either worship or mission.
Rooted in the Gospel, grounded in Scripture,
faithful to the Lutheran Confessions,
we commit ourselves to constant renewal
through the ongoing study and diligent searching of
God's Word.

All baptized Christians who believe as we do that:

Christ is really present in, with and under the bread and wine.
Are welcome to join us at the Lord’s Table.
